Data Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

This Data Policy explains how TallyFin handles business and accounting information that is connected from your Tally environment. It is intended to make the data flow easy to understand for business owners and teams.

1. Source of your business data

Your Tally environment remains the primary source of accounting records. TallyFin acts as a companion layer that reads and synchronises information for authorised users and supported features.

2. What may be synchronised

Depending on the features and permissions enabled for your account, synchronised information may include company details, ledgers, vouchers, sales and purchase information, receivables, payables, stock, tax information, cash, bank balances and reports available through the TallyFin service.

3. Connector and data movement

The TallyFin desktop connector runs in the Tally environment you configure. It communicates with TallyFin to synchronise the information required by enabled features. Connectivity and synchronisation status may be shown in the application so users can understand how current the displayed information is.

4. Access control

Access to business data is controlled through your TallyFin account and the permissions configured for your organisation. You should give access only to people who need it and promptly remove access when a user no longer requires it.

5. Data security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect synchronised data while it is transmitted and stored. You are also responsible for securing the computers, Tally installation, devices and account credentials used to access the service.

6. Changes made from supported features

If TallyFin supports creating or sending an entry from a connected device, the entry may remain in a separate state until the connector can communicate with Tally. The behaviour and availability of write-back features may depend on the version and configuration of your Tally environment.

7. Retention and deletion

Data may be retained while required to provide the service, maintain account history, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or protect the security of the platform. Contact us if you need information about a specific deletion or retention request.

8. Customer responsibility

Your organisation is responsible for ensuring that the people who connect its Tally environment have appropriate authority and that the data shared with TallyFin may lawfully be processed for the purposes you choose.

9. Contact
